Let’s Stop Walter Payton!
It’s been a long season already, and we’re just barely halfway through.
The big question today was whether we can stop Walter Payton or not. The Bears came into this game with a 4-4 record, just a hair above our 3-5 mark.
And we were successful this time around.
We held Payton to a mere 61 yards on 21 attempts. Mike Pruitt, meanwhile, managed 109 yards on only 17 attempts, as we brought the game to their defense.
It was a proud moment for us, and we won the game in style.
Game Stats
The defense did the job in this one. We limited Chicago to 100 yards rushing and only 184 yards passing.
Sipe had a fairly good game, gaining 251 yards on the ground. Chicago’s reluctance to blitz almost certainly played a part in that. I chalk that one up to our ability to establish the ground game through Mike Pruitt.
It was a good win overall, and gives me at least a glimmer of hope for the rest of the season.
Feacher and Wright featured for us as wide receivers, which was necessitated by Action! PC Football’s frustratingly aggressive fatigue system. More on that later.
It was a good game overall. The 56 yard run by Mike Pruitt was certainly the highlight.
Standings
We’re technically still in the hunt, but it’s going to take a miracle for us to catch up with Pittsburgh and Houston.
